Blueslide will kick off beach movies on memorial day weekend with "The Postman" starring Kevin Costner.
What you may not know is that a good portion of that movie was filmed in the area (primarily Metaline Falls) and during filimg, most of the crew stayed at Blueslide.
Kevin Costner rented a house in Ione and the cast and crew became regulars in the local restaurants and other establishments around the area.
In the movie, the cities of Pineview and Benning where both filmed in Metaline Falls. Tons of dirt were brought in to turn the paved roads into dirt roads and a lot of work was put in to make the buildings look old and distressed.
Residents of an apartment building in Metaline Falls were paid to have their windows blown out during the "Hannibal at the gate" scene that takes place in Benning.

Nick & Darin Returning to Blueslide
Live music continues on the Blueslide beach stage for the 2015 season. Nick Grow is a local Spokane singer/songwriter performing in the Spokane/Couer D'Alene area. He is a solo artist with a unique spin on classic songs and forgotten hits.
Nick alternates folksy finger-picking with rock strumming and sings songs ranging from the heartfelt to the humorous.
Darin is an accomplished musician, a powerful vocalist, and a prolific songwriter, with a full list of eclectic, originial material. His lyrics range from deeply inspirational and throught-provoking to just plain silly.
Darin has a warm and appealing stage presence and a knack for meaningful interaction with his audience.
